Oath of Office, Commissioned Side or Warrant Side?

A matter of technicality and "common knowledge", my instinct filling out and a new DA-71 Oath of Office to regular Army, is to do so on the "Warrant Officer" side. I've received conflicting information in light of going from "appointed reserve" to Regular Army Commissioned Officer. AR 601–100, AR 135–155, and Army Regulation 135-100 don't say, and I'm not finding an associated DA PAM.

Warrant officers became commissioned during 1980s.. no more appointed. They are allowed to command units.

The only appointed warrant officers are WO1. All CW2 and above are commissioned. Regardless of compo

I understand as much, but the right side says "Warrant Officer", as opposed to "Appointed Officer." We are commissioned, and we are Warrant. As was said, the form is in need of tweeking to be more explicit.

CW3 (Join to see) - I agree it is confusing. But the only appointed officers in the army anymore are WO1. so it would be filled out as a commissioned officer for CW2 and above

It's been a couple of days, but the Regular Army paperwork does not happen until you make CW3. You will stay a Reserve Officer until then. The commissioning paperwork was/is more along the lines of Command, NJP, Re-enlistment type things. I did it when I made CW2, it was pretty basic and simple, didn't really change my life. I only did one re-enlistment for a great NCO I knew.
