Does anyone know how competitive the green to gold 4 year scholarship program is? Or has been through the process?

They are relatively competitive.. however, each Division Commander has FIVE scholarships per year that they often don't advertise much and so go unused. Ask you GtG rep and your Commander about those. They are called "Hip Pocket Scholarships."

There are a number of good responses on this thread. It is important to note that there are the Division Commander Hip Pocket scholarships, which can be either highly competitive or completely unused, but there are also scholarships awarded directly from Cadet Command which, while competitive, are not overly hard to get.

I highly recommend that you go to your local education center and seek out the Green to Gold recruiter. There are typically briefings once a week or so and they can lay out all of your options, as well as give you the exact demographics for the previous year (IE what GPAs, SATs, and APFT averages).

Personally i did GTG AD option but the 4 yr scholarship is competitive. Here’s the deal though, if you accepted into a college don’t worry about your SAT or HS GPA. For you the focus is gonna be how you have performed so far in the military. There is a need for nurses. Since we went through the Officer Separation Board in 2015/16, we lost a lot of good nurses. And as the clock hands move, now we realize as a whole organization that we do not have enough nurses anymore. My advice is to apply. It varies yearly whether enough people apply for GTG scholarships. So go into it believing you will be selected and you might just be suprised.
