About
Memorial Day has become a holiday celebrated with barbecues, drinks and special discounts, but the actual meaning of the day is often forgotten. This day, brought to fruition in the 1800s and originally called Decoration Day, is meant to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting and fighting for our country. With that in mind, RallyPoint, the largest military network in the U.S., created the #FlowerOnEveryGrave movement to bring back the true meaning of Memorial Day. We are on a mission to place a #FlowerOnEveryGrave across the country.
We are on a mission to make this movement a reality, and we’re starting with Arlington National Cemetery. The first Memorial Day in history was honored by 5,000 participants, who decorated the graves of 20,000 soldiers buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Decades later, we’re on a mission to honor the now 300,000 buried at Arlington. This year, let’s take the time to remember those who put their lives on the line so the rest of us could enjoy our freedoms as Americans. Let’s fill that cemetery and get a #FlowerOnEveryGrave!
Head to the #FlowerOnEveryGrave site to join the mission to properly honor our fallen service members this Memorial Day by donating or volunteering.
