while yes, I will agree that it has happened from time to time, it is supposed to be reviewed at the next level at least once but I believe twice in actuality. But quite simply, civilian courts are not trained nor prepared for a subtle but very distinct difference. While a military court is there to sort out right from wrong in most cases it is even that cut and dried. They are also to look out for the GOOD OF THE SERVICE which can, in some cases turn the wrong into a right. We have all heard the phrase "he did the wrong thing, but for the right reasons" The civilian court makes no distinctions (except for TX I hear, they still have the defense of "him needed killing" so I hear) So, while yes, there is some politicization of our courts system, can you truly say the civilian courts are much better with judges legislating from the bench, because the criminal does not fit the judges read of the crime?

I don't think that you have really been exposed to the situation as it stands now. there is no integrity in the military justice system Claire McCaskilll and others on the Armed forces committee removed it in the defense appropriation act of 2014, the secretary of the army with Army directive 2013-20 and in a hundred other ways unlawful command influence is rampant in the UCMJ in all services primarily related to article 120 right now, but it could be any issue any time!

SGT (Join to see) - Maybe, I have been out for a couple of decades at this point, I was just stating the way things are supposed to be done. However I have yet to see anything but bad when a politiction involves themselves wholesale in the Military unless they have specific knowledge (I can assume that Mr Cotton would know the when and where and how to inject himself if necessary) But Mrs McCaskill on the other hand should be kept as far away from the military as possible. I will defer to your current knowledge on the situation.

I'm really just happy to have people look at it. I wish i didn't have the first hand experience that I have.
