For starters....Yes these new Soldiers need to be able to zero and qualify with iron sights. Get rid of that optics usage in BCT.

Something needs done because I know at least two or three people who have been drill sergeants in the last few years and they have had their hands tied on discipline and so many things.

The question is by whom and there in lies the problem. Resolution has to start at the top and pushed down through the ranks.
