How is everyone doing this holiday season?

The holidays tend to be a difficult time for veterans and service members. And if you're still tied in with your brothers and sister-in-arms like I am, you've probably already heard terrible news. But this site is great because it allows us to remain in contact with a multiplicity of veterans from different eras, who took part in various conflicts, who are in different parts of their lives, and there is strength in that connectivity. I just want to see how everyone is doing, but I also want to remind everyone to reach out to those guys and gals who you may have not heard from in a while and see if they are doing okay. God bless.

Everyone should be doing buddy checks this season and have the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number on their phone. [login to see] or 988 via text or call. You can also contact the American Red Cross Hero Care Network for assistance.

Interestingly, suicides are not the highest during winter holidays and are worse during late spring into early summer.
