Do you know the difference between a "21 gun salute" and a "3-volley salute"?

A 3 Volley salute is comprised of 3-7 rifles and is an honor presented at funerals of those who served, where as a 21 gun salute is a custom and courtesy presented to high ranking officials and dignitaries such as Admirals, Generals, Presidents, leadership from other countries, and certain holidays. A "gun" in this case would be a cannon or artillery and not a rifle. A very common misconception.

Thanks for the info. Now what's up with the different stances in the picture? The two men in the middle almost look like they're performing a martial arts stance!
