Bio
At 50 years old, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
Not much to tell. I'm 50 years old. I'm a disabled veteran, a hardcore patriot, and a proud single parent of a complicated 13 year old daughter.
Military Experiences
Mar 1987 - Present
E-4/Specialist 4
Was assigned to the 5th/32nd armor (Desert Lions) which, shortly thereafter, became the1st/64th armor (Desert Rouges). Seemed like we stayed in the field. There were alot of wild boars running around out there. We caught, killed, and roasted one over a fire pit. Delish.
Mar 1986 - Mar 1987
E-3/PFC
Assigned to the 304th Signal Battalion, while stationed at Camp Long in Wonju, South Korea. The day I arrived at Camp Long, there were air raid sirens sounding. Apparently, a North Korean Pilot had defected in a stolen Mig. Everything was in chaos, people were panicing, and running all over the place. Lol, I was scared to death, thought we were going to war.
Dec 1985 - Mar 1986
Private
Transitioned to my AIT, 31C radio teletype operator training at Ft. Gordon, Ga. (tank hill). It was like basic training all over again.
Oct 1985 - Nov 1985
Maggot
Oct. 2, 1985- What can I say? It was a nightmare. This was a time period before political correctness existed. You didn't step out of line. They instilled discipline and respect by any means neccessary, and they didn't give a damn about hurting your feelings. Loved Victory Tower tho, it was a hoot.
