24 May 1941: The German battleship Bismarck sank the HMS Hood in the Battle of the Denmark Straits, killing 1,415 sailors. Only three crewmen survived, all junior enlisted sailors.

It was quite a shock to the British Navy and a Very Lucky shot by the Gunners of the Bismarck. Hitting the thinnest point of armament from that distance can be considered nothing but luck.

It was a lucky strike hitting the rudder. I winder if it was guided by God. The Bismark was unable to do anything but drive around in a circle. The order was given to keep firing till it was sunk.
