30 Jan. 1945: About 130 U.S. Rangers & 250 Filipino guerrillas liberated 500 prisoners from the Japanese POW camp at Cabanatuan on Luzon.

Amazing piece of WW2 U.S. military history! Murphy's Law, happily, wasn't a factor and the surviving POW's were mostly spared the horrific plans of the Japs.
