About

In the United States Navy, the Gunner’s Mate Technician, (GMTs) were the only rated sailors aboard aircraft carriers given access to the special aviation storage spaces along with special weapons magazine storage locations ashore. The rating was for those who actually worked on nuclear weapons and probably not seen anywhere else outside those spaces after nuclear weapons appeared aboard ships.
