CWO4 Terrence Clark Ammo supply is a bit better where I am, but not enough to build that kind of stockpile. A 500 round case of 9mm is available, and sells for $200.

I use to have around 1,200 rds of .308 loaded in to some large ammo cans and they weren't light. same with my .45acp
