Tactical and Strategic Ground Intelligence

Ground Intelligence Officers serve as intelligence officers in the MAGTF's Ground Combat Element (GCE). They can be assigned to any unit in the GCE (including the Logistics Combat Element -LCE- on rarer occasions) based on the needs of the supported units. Assignments can range from Intelligence Officer (as a 1stLt) to a non-infantry combat arms Battalion or Regiment (Artillery, Tanks, Combat Engineers, Tracks) to Assistant Intelligence Officer (S2A) or Scout Sniper Platoon Commander at an Infantry Battalion, working for an 0202 Captain. Select officers can be screened to serve as platoon commanders at Reconnaisance Battalions, and (occasionally) can be assigned as line platoon commanders as needed by an Infantry Battalion.

To my knowledge, this MOS is not available for lateral movers, lat movers can become 0202 MAGTF Intel officers (who can serve as the S2 at an Infantry Battalion) but cannot become 0203 Ground Intelligence Officers.
