Work on your push up and sit up FORM. Crack open the Regulation and burn it into your brain. If you don't do a push up or sit up EXACTLY like it says in the book they WILL NOT count it. Make sure you can get at least 70 points in each event BEFORE you get there. The rest will come. Know the drill sergeants creed, soldiers creed, and army song before you get there. The first 3 modules are the position of attention, rest positions at the halt, and the hand salute. Know ALL of this before you get there. Day zero you will be called out, but if you know your stuff you will be golden. There's a drill sergeant school page on the Fort Jackson website. Get those modules!!!!! They are easy. You can also watch videos of drill sergeant leaders pitching the modules on Youtube

SFC (Join to see), just improve on your PT and if you can get a right/left seat experience as a (Turtle) in a BCT unit for hands on would be nice. Review your modules as depicted in another response; know the DS creed and history. Talk to DS on FB and RP to get more tips. http://jackson.armylive.dodlive.mil/about/armyschools/usadss/

SGT Denario,
Suggest that you visit the website for the Drill Sergeant School at Fort Jackson for the latest POI.
Get a head start and familiar yourself with the first three modules; Position of Attention, Rest Position from the Halt and the Hand Salute. Be prepared mentally and physically to go back to basic.
Stay motivated and keep a positive attitude! Best of Luck!

Just be the NCO that you already are. PT should already be easy. Your going to do PRT while your there. You gotta know it inside and out, but its EASY. Modules can be difficult if you let them. It's the same old song and dance, be on time and in the right uniform. You will enjoy it. Hopefully you get good NCO's in your squad, it makes all the difference. I graduated in June and I still talk to my squad from drill sgt school.
