And there’s little doubt that countless objects and artifacts have been lost there over the years.
“Foreign objects can damage hot springs and geysers,” the Facebook statement from Yellowstone said. “The next time Ear Spring erupts we hope it’s nothing but natural rocks and water.” Rebecca Roland, who works for Yellowstone, elaborated on what happens when debris begins to clog up the landscape of the park.

SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth People are so disrespectful with their garbage everywhere Brother. It makes me sick to see all the trash along the roads.

It's bad enough being such a disrespectful pig You have to throw Your trash all over the place let alone into a natural wonder. I have no tolerance for that sort of thing. I not only have NEVER thrown litter out of a car window or disposed of My trash improperly. In my duties as a Police Officer I didn't hesitate to in some cases tp stop people and make them pick up their trash or in other cases write a citation for Littering which had very stiff fines up to $1,000.00 People throwing cigarette butts out car windows have actually started fires. One individual I citing for littering (He had thrown a paper bag full of empty beer bottles out the car window and the bottles broke when they hit the pavement) went to court with an Attorney who proposed He pick up trash due to His lack of funds for the fine, The courts and I both accepted that and it took Him 2.5 weeks of picking up trash 8 hours a day. The DPW did provide Him the empty trash bags to fill. I did witness Him picking up the trash when drove by Him in a Patrol car a few times over the just over two week period.
