World's most advanced jet in first combat

Some points the article missed. The F-35 wasn’t designed to be a Air superiority fighter. It was designed as a multi role aircraft. The F-22 was supposed to be the Air Force’s Air to Air killer. But short sightedness on the part of previous administrations cut the F-22 program short. So now the F-35 has to perform roles it was never designed for. So it’s not surprising that the F-35 lost in Air to air combat with a F-16.

Also, the main asset of the F-35 is its avionics, communication, and advanced computer technology. However, those systems have yet to perform as designed. One day the F-35 may be an outstanding aircraft, but it is still years away from reaching that goal.
