Why We Are a Republic, Not a Democracy

And the left continuously attempts to change that. History tells us that true Democracy were the basis for our government, some of our Constitutional amendments would not have happened.

There are few commentators that I like more than Walter E Williams. That man is a national treasure. Another way I explained the EC here on RP was the World Series of Baseball. Since this is an example, I get to make my team, the Texas Rangers WS Champions over the NY Yankees. (not possible, I get that) My Rangers win the Series in Game 7 but the games they lost, they were overwhelmed by the Yanks. In fact, if you added the scores from each game - the Yanks would be declared the winners - but that's not how the game is played.

The reality is that We are a Constitutional Republic NOT a Democracy and the electoral College if it wasn't in effect then in the last election California and New York Would have controlled most of the other 48 states and that We sure don't need ! The electoral college allowed smaller states to still have an impact and not be overruled by larger states with their own agenda which might not match at all.
