Why Was the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus Considered Amazing?

Even in its destroyed status today it's a magnificent structure. I made quite a few trips to Ephesus when I was stationed in Turkey.

That action hit the pockets of a few earning a living off of a pagan idol.
The same thing happened to the Christians later on. As they increased in number, sales went down across the Empire. More than a few Christians were murdered for harming the economy with their worshiping of one G-d who created heaven and earth, who died for human sin and who indwells in those who truly humble themselves accept they are sinners and seek him.
They stated the idols have no life as Abraham did and they did not believe the Consul of Rome was a god.
It is written, soon there will be another idol one must worship and take the mark of in order to buy and sell. I bet a lot of Christians will be murdered then as well. Not like now, when they refuse to worship Hubal in the ME. But globally.
