Why the 3/5ths Compromise Was Anti-Slavery

You know I learned something I never previously learned about the period of slavery. I am not saying that Indentured Contracts are the same as Slavery (definitely not the same) but did you know that most of the early settlers came over to this country under indentured contracts because they could not otherwise afford passage to the New World. I had no idea previous that was the case and wonder why that is never taught via our History courses. Additionally, most of us know that Press Gangs were used to staff ships on the high seas and it was one of the reasons we fought the War of 1812 with the British boarding our merchant ships and abusing press gangs. The Columbus expedition used Press Gangs and twice the expedition was delayed leaving for the New World because the crew on one of the ships kept sabotaging the ship as they did not want to go on the voyage.......they thought it was a death trip.

As for the video, yeah I can see how that misunderstanding can happen over time.
