I just had this thought as I was reading this article. Part of the reason so many have taken up the Modern Sporting Rifle is the plastic furniture. I say this because You don't want to take GrandPa's legacy Walnut(or whatever wood it was made from) stocked rifle out in to the woods for fear of damaging it. With the Mattel replaceable plastic pieces, if You ding it or put a hole in it, You order a new one and in short time and a couple of tools, it's ready to go again, without the cost of getting a Smith involved. Just My Opinion.
