When it comes to anything Obama even remotely wanted or did, it’s a write off even if he didn’t support it directly. Look at who is pushing this, then look at Mulvaneys own actions in the past. He’s pro-business and nothing comes before that fact. He just happens to work for a President who is also pro-business and there is where this becomes a natural progression. In the end, we have folks who haven’t served a day in uniform telling those who are the “best way forward”. I’d hope SECDEF rolls through and checks this (he hasn’t forgotten where he come from), I’d hope Kellly would do the same as both a former NCO and as an officer. I’d hope that all these military “suooprt” orgs come out against this (IAVA, American Legion, VFW, are you listening), and put a substantial effort into stopping this. In the end there are two certainties, it’s going to come upon troops and their commands to help them make good and sounds decisions, and us, to be good stewards in making sure the past doesn’t make the same mistakes we did.
If one truly believes his oath has no expiration date, then something like this should be something that makes you think. Not on party politics, but helping the troops as a whole.

Let me guess its a law that Obama had put into place. Trump is an evil corporate whore that claims to be for the military but his actions show otherwise

CPT (Join to see) - Our military expect and are entitled to the support of POTUS and SECDEF when they are exploited for profit by the very people whose freedoms they are serving, fighting, and dying to preserve and protect, and they're certainly entitled to that support from their superiors including the junior officers in their own units at home, abroad, and on the battlefield, even and perhaps especially when they make poor choices.

CPT (Join to see) in total agreement. I briefed Soldiers on numerous occasions to talk with their NCOs before committing to a large financial obligation but I have story after story of deals gone bad.

Sgt Jerry Genesio and they will receive that support from me before they make the poor choices in terms of educational briefs and after they make the poor choice in terms of support and direction to AER and other appropriate resources. However they will always know that they made a poor choice and they will be encouraged to take accountability for their actions.
