Sowell definitely knows what he is talking about...unfortunately, no one on the left wants to listen CSM Chuck Stafford

I taught at an HBCU (historic black college or university). Academically, plagiarism was a definite no-no. Our students understood what was considered plagiarism and what was not. It is amazing a school with the creds of Harvard are so lax regarding plagiarism.

I can answer the question quite simply.
These so-called journalists have been taught, trained, indoctrinated, into believing that narrative is more important than facts. That the way things SHOULD BE is more important than the way things ARE. And that feelings are more important than actions.
They no longer tell you what is happening, they tell you what you should think about what is happening. Because that is what they have been told to do - and what the current business model supports.
Like it or not, in today's media world, clicks = revenue. And "hot takes" gain FAR more clicks than honest-to-goodness factual reporting with a focus on accuracy and journalistic standards.
