(07 07 21) Buckhead, a community known for its tree-lined streets, historic landmarks and thriving culinary and shopping scene, is one of the most affluent areas of Atlanta, GA. However, crime has increased significantly as respect and funding for police declines, according to Buckhead official Bill White. That’s why the community wants a divorce from the city.
"We feel like the people of Buckhead have been exploited for way too long,” White said and that Atlanta Democrat Mayor Keisha Bottoms’ policies created this problem. “The criminals feel like they're emboldened because there is no leadership from the city. The mayor has said we're not going to arrest shoplifters, we're not going to chase carjackers."
If granted independence, residents plan to create their own, properly funded police force for the city of Buckhead.
"[Police] just want to be allowed to do their job and put the smackdown on this crime. And that's what we're going to do in the Buckhead City Police Department."

the problem is the police have had their hand tied. They need to be allowed to beat the hell out people, not criminals just folks who look crazy. Fear is an incredible motivator, but then agin so is chocolate just saying

LTC Jeff Shearer A Rally Point drop out previously shared that he still has a lead-loaded police baton? Nightstick? in his closet. In that disclosure he said that a nightstick strike to the back of a protesters leg would disable them.
