PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Thanks for the excellent article. No doubt the book is good also> A did not know the word "Tejano". Now I know the context:
"Anglos migrated illegally into Texas, which was then part of Mexico, in greater and greater numbers and gradually drove the tejanos (native Texans of Mexican descent) from their lands, committing all manner of atrocities against them."

Myths must be ripped open to reveal the truths. Tulsi or Holy Basil in Hindu mythology is sacred because it is the earthly manifestation of a goddess who is the Avatar of Lakshmi Mata (mother), and Mata Lakshmi was the consort of Lord Vishnu in Hindu mythology. How complicated?
It is easier to say the Tulsi is holy, since it is the representation of Ma'a Lakshmi, and Lakshmi Mata brings wealth to the family. Every year, once a year, Hindus buy gold, silver, and other metals to celebrate the wealth showered on them by Lakshmi Mata.
