PO1 Kevin Dougherty I believe there are a lot of things going on behind closed doors that don’t scream headlines. Unfortunately we have become trained in accepting news in 30 second bytes. And then it becomes who screams the loudest. Generally, I take most headlines as a distraction and look for what they don’t want us to see. Propaganda is alive and well on all channels. Watch the fine print about a week after the headlines.

Worse, I have noticed that for the most part, the kids are conditioned to get their news from 140 characters or less.

Yes debate and discussion do matter however one side has decided that only their opinions count and that's a problem.

One major thing that your article omits is the The Articles of Confederation. Before the US Constitution emerged, America was not united. States imposed tariffs on one other and struggled to stop Shays Rebellion. The Constitution's words of "a more perfect union" were about need for a strong central federal government in order for the nation to survive.

Indeed, but the focus of the article is actually the time between the writing of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
