you know Capt, I have always wondered what constitutes "unusual"? at this point in time (21st century) I do believe that we as the human race have explored every possible way to kill a person that is possible up to our current level of technology. To me "unusual" would be = new way. Cruel, I can agree, there is no point for a cruel death, but there are people who would say that the act of stopping someones breathing by any method used is cruel. (you know there are some people who would complain if you hung them with a gold rope)

Capt Dwayne Conyers I am a big law and order type, but I have issues with the death penalty. It seems that there are enough cases after the execution where more evidence comes out that they were not guilty. You can't really take back death. My other problem is that we make the death penalty execution so darned difficult. We use extremely expensive drugs, when the fact is that the most painless, cheapest method is nitrogen poisoning. Person goes to sleep, never wakes up. No pain and much, much cheaper.

Capt Dwayne Conyers - Too much CSI there Capt, I have a friend who is an honest to goodness CSI and he is always complaining that people do not understand that DNA is not just left laying around for him to find. (and no it takes way longer than and hour to get back) DNA is not a silver bullet. they still rely on other evidence they collect at the scene and yes, even circumstancial. There are many things that can be done to defeat the DNA as well, wearing gloves, using bleach are just 2 of the easier ones, but there are many others he tells me. But by all means use it if it is available, but just do not COUNT on it.
and as a PSA he DID say that since many rapists have been using condoms, if you are attacked like that, SCRATCH THEM, dig in hard with your fingernails and then keep that for the Police, that way you can honestly help the Police track him (or her) down, because if they did it to you, they either have, or will do it again. Help protect the others. But that is a case where the victims can truly help their own case.
