With no defined front lines, Charlie had the ability to strike anywhere at their discretion. It meant that anyone was vulnerable, and practically no place in Vietnam was truly "safe". That was the advantage of guerilla warefare and the ability to "blend in" with the general population.... That way Charlie could serve Americans during the day - gathering information - and kill them at night, for example.

CW5 Maki, that is for sure one of the events We had at Da Nang, Viet Nam when I was there we had a group of 45 Viet Cong We had killed about 60 feet from my hut and 2 of them were barbers that worked during the day in our own hut area. both of them had cut My hair before. We never did trust them and were always armed in the shop and decided if they did anything to harm any of us We would kill them right there. Well they did get killed but not in the shop and both had AK47s . As far as We know the third barber in the shop wasn't with them but He also never came back to work there. In a munitions storage area We also caught a woman Vietnamese woman that had stolen an inventory list of munitions stored there.
that just a small sampling of the list. Those things I'm well aware of as was present at both.
