My Father was stationed there on and off during his time with the Navy. He also fought in Vietnam and was sent to the Gulf War before he retired. He's now dealing with a cancer the VA says is not attributed to the water at Camp Lejeune. I saw the list of cancers the VA said was caused by the water and his wasn't on there. There's a ton of forms and other red tape that he has to FIGHT for to get through in order to get any type of treatment or compensation. The list right now is small but I anticipate it growing as they continue finding more and more issues with the service men and women who served there.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - We have gotten better and I agree we have lots to do to "fix" issues. But I cannot stand it when the very people who send us all over the place traipsing through the woods or wading through water (contaminated or not) often do not want to fess up and make good on their mistakes. I think the new issues that will be coming out at some point is the vaccinations. How many people has the military messed on just that alone that nobody is talking about?!

Not just the Marines! All Civilians working on Base consumed and swam in contaminated water! They have been monitoring lead levels since 1999! They actually shut down sections of housing for lead contamination and lead paint and rusting pipes! When I left in 2095, there were entire sections of Base Housing which were ‘condemned’ due to extremely high levels of lead contamination. All the water fir the Base comes from the same source.

I was there (Montford Point) in '68 for the Field Medical Service School. VA doing evaluations on me now for LeJeune - already affected by Agent Orange.

That’s a big ‘IF’ Cowboy! It’s been two years and my dental issues have not been resolved! The VA DOES NOT pay their providers in NC and the Veterans pay the price and sometimes the bills!
