New details have emerged about the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, including confirmation of reports that the Secret Service rejected numerous requests from the campaign for more agents and resources.
Officials also said that the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, flew a drone over the rally site prior to the event and that the FBI has found the remains of the drone. The 20-year-old gunman was shot in the head by a Secret Service agent immediately after the shooting.

Sgt (Join to see) Interesting. A question that needs to be answered. I haven't been watching the news. Figured after things calmed down the reporting might be less chaotic. Guess its time to give broadcast news another look and listen.

Lt Col Charlie Brown My theory is that the secret service made damn sure they killed the shooter so he couldn't talk and say who hired him to make this attempt on Trump's life. A dead man reveals no secrets.

One thing for sure leaving that roof uncovered NEVER should have happened. It was well in range of the target with a clear view. I've worked dozens of details on Air Force bases for a number of Presidents and Vice Presidents and NEVER did We have an area like that unwatched and We put snipers on the highest point to be able to see everything. We even covered hills and area on the other side of the runways with people present there Not even once did We fail to cover a spot like that and so close that not even a sight adjustment was needed for the weapon. The maximum effective range for an AR15 is the same as that for an M16 which is 500 Yards or 1500 feet, before there is even any drop at all in the bullet. Both guns are very accurate. He was well within that range less than 200 yards. (think i heard around 150 yards) It appear from what they show His AR15 didn't have a scope on it either but I know from firing an M16 Myself and at 500 yards putting 48 rounds in the 10 and 9 Ring and on the remaining two of 50 rounds getting only out to the 8 ring how accurate it was.
