The CO will soon be commanding a desk in the basement of some Staff HQ and will probably be encouraged to retire.
The careers of the OOD and probably the NAV will likely end when passed over for promotion, then forced to get out.

The Captain, definitely. They will do a version of a 15-6 and others will go down. The OOD (who had the Conn) at the time is a safe bet. The XO and the Navigator could be in deep depending on what was happening and who direcTed people to do what. Any time a Navy vessel hits something at sea, change of command without hors d'vors. Guy got relieved for hitting a whale that was basking on the surface. Totally not his fault.

The article is vague so, there could be any number of factors involved.

LTC Jason Mackay - The glaring factor is that they dragged anchor. If that's true, they're done, full stop. Dragging your anchor is easily preventable, and if they let it happen, someone was derelict.

SN Greg Wright - I don't disagree. I know they shy away from Rich technicolor details until they finish the investigation.
