Not every one of them smoke dope. I know many of them didn't smoked including my two brothers, and some friends

Maybe because my unit entered fairly early in the war October 1966,and spent (I felt anyway )an inordinate time in the boonies don’t really recall much marijuana use,probably some in base camp,I was a “juicer “ so can really can’t say ,definitely not in the field we became very close out there and that was a definite no no Welcome Home Brothers

The real problem was heroin. It was easier to get than pot. When I would go to our base camp at Bien Hoa, it was common to see empty gram containers laying around as common as cigarette butts. When I got sent home in April 1972, I took a pee test as a MP watched. If you were dirty, they kept you there till you detoxed.
