Lol, in what bizzaro alternate reality does the Governor of New Jersey get to tell the President of the United States what he can or cannot do?

TSgt Jack Oberholtzer I’m aware. I guess I’m looking more at the principle of the thing...if the policy is being enforced as law, then doesn’t the President have to abide by it while within the boundaries of that governor’s jurisdiction? Also noteworthy, this isn’t an “official business” trip, he’s going to golf.

SFC Thomas Foreman - I can see your point, but it is not law so..... I guess if a Sheriff or patrolman can get past the Secret Service agents and arrest him then we may see it play out in court. Somehow I dont see that happening.

TSgt Jack Oberholtzer I don’t either, for sundry and obvious reasons. I just get really weird about the idea that anyone anywhere is above the law. Too bad so many of our elected officials don’t share that view.

SFC Thomas Foreman I think if I were going to pick a hill to make a stand on (as far as equality with our representatives) it would be over using their office for personal gain. The revolving door from politics to industry keeps us from enacting meaningful reform, and the use of inside information should land them in jail rather than enrich them.
