PO3 Phyllis Maynard - They have a chance to step back from the brink here. The damage that could be done to them from the air is significant for an economy already faltering. Taking out oil fields, power stations, government buildings, bridges and other infrastructure could also encourage those that want to change their government to act.

PO3 Phyllis Maynard - There is an opportunity for Iran to do the right thing here. They were caught with their Quds Force commander in a foreign, sovereign nation doing things he should not have been doing. They know his force is designated a terrorist organization and consequently the General is a legitimate target.

Their real military options are pretty limited and if they go down that path they have been fully warned at what comes next. The ball is squarely in their court.
