While the thought is entertaining, it is not in Trump's best interest to pick a general as his VP -- especially a Democratic one! That would alienate his conservative base which already is having trouble stomaching his brand of conservatism. As it is, Trump is already being cast by his critics as working with Hillary and only in the race to be a spoiler for the GOP.
Conservatives want Trump to focus on important issues and to act Presidential. They don't want a Reality TV government. Most general officers are saying he should abandon the idea of a using a general officer for his running mate because we don't want to blur lines between politics and military. They need to remain separate and distinct. It is not the military's job to reform Congress.
If we are truly going to reform Washington, the change has to come from within. We need at least one person who is a political insider to balance Trump's business outsider perspective.

My opinion that idea of blurring lines is new age BS, we have had Gen. Who were president and former military who were presidents. I believe we are scared of strong leadership because EVERYONE HAVE BECOME pussies and can't Handel real leaders!!

To be honest I hope Donald Trump abandons the idea of considering retired Generals for his VP SP5 Mark Kuzinski. The best they could do is bring marginal support to his campaign as an outsider since the two retired generals named are insiders to Washington, DC. I think he would do better to pick a conservative woman such as Sen Joni Ernst who is an Iraq War veteran and not a flag officer.
