Quite a diverse group. Folks must think they are getting their monies worth because for the most part people tend to stay where they were born. Of late NY and CA are trying to become exceptions though.

I can understand the appeal of Hawaii although it's very expensive to live there.

Lt Col Charlie Brown Me too, have been there 7 times, but only got out of the airport once...LOL but I loved it. For our 40th Anniversary my wife and I spent 8 days there. The price of housing is outrageous but if my wife would let me I'd still give it a lot of thought on living there.

Lt Col Charlie Brown Depending on which county in Tennessee you live you could be paying up to 9.75% sales tax! Property tax isn't as bad as other states and we have no state income tax. That's probably why we are in the lower five states in taxes.

We have been over 9% for years and the new capital gains tax is a form of state income tax. Jay Inslee, what a man...

I work in one of those 9.75 counties. And it's still cheaper than where I live.....

SFC Casey O'Mally - I do also, Green County has the 9.75% tax, again still a lot cheaper on property tax than I paid in Chicago!
