As were most who came from Ireland, Italy, Poland, Italy, Estonia, Vietnam, Laos, et. al. but we accepted them no questions asked (or very few questions based upon their circumstances).

No, just quit billing ourselves as a safe refuge for oppressed people.

From hatbive gathered in this, yet mother “poor mouth” article from a socialist, government subsidized media swamp, a woman was raped years ago and is afraid that the pedophile who defiled her will come back once he’s out of jail, I would presume he in jail for rape, I suppose.
The others say that they don’t have jobs and they depend on money sent to them from the United States. One, according to the article now has a successful business in Mexico, right?
Even the store owner in the city there owns a presumably successful business since he apparently supplies the people there with everything from shoes to electronics and toys.
He himself even states in the article that there are now cement block homes, some with multiple floors and terraces where only stock hut with straw roofs stood in prior years... Right?
And even with that, the article implies that there is nothing left for Guatemalans in Guatemala and they all have no choice but to “migrate” north and illegally enter a sovereign nation, ours, under cover of darkness and without even one iota of permission from ya, or even the appearance of any desire to abide by our immigration laws... Right?
And of course, we evil heartless Americans would be oh so cruel to harbor the expectation that our laws be adhered to.... so rotten are we!
Nd then finally, as is totally predictable, it’s all Yrump’s fault because we actually have a president who believes in the constitution and requires that our laws, legislated and enacted by past administrations and previous congressional bodies, be enforced for once....
So utterly predictable.....
Just my opinion...
