So, now you are using CNN as a source?

This is a very misleading headline. Reading the attached CNN report, the number "dozens" is not in any State Department release.

The holding of any American citizen is unacceptable, but let's not make it worse by telling untruths or exaggerations.

Once again you fail to read with comprehension.

In this world characterized by conflicting reports, it is the dull person who does not take note of all sources.

Like a broken clock, or a blind squirrel, even CNN occaisionally reports accurately.

Did they this time? That's my question. If you have accurate numbers, from a credible source, float them out.

CWO4 Terrence Clark - I am not talking about "accurate numbers." I am talking about accurate accreditation.

SGT (Join to see) - Nope. Just because there was an agreement does not mean that it was announced. The Biden administration conducted a complete clusterfuck of a retreat from Afghanistan. COMPLETE. We left untold aircraft, munitions and assets and gear behind, most of which we could not reduce to a state of useless junk.

Ever been to Afghanistan? They are not exactly what one would call state of the art or possessing modern reliable communications. Most things are relayed from runner to runner, mouth to mouth. So please explain how there was more than enough time for anyone willing and wanting to get out when communications had to be run out for it to be known that "oh yeah, an agreement has been reached and we should GTFO by this date."

Biden screwed the pooch.

SGT (Join to see) - if this was so well known why were our Allie’s left out in the dark? The truth is Biden claimed the Afghanistan army wouldn’t fold even as the Taliban were rolling them up like cheap rugs. Biden promised a smooth exist. Biden promised all American citizens would be out before we left. Well all that was a pile of garbage. We were locked into an airport with Taliban providing security. American citizens were blocked by the Taliban from getting to the airport. American citizens that got in the queue to leave we’re often roughed up, beaten etc. 13 troops were killed when when a suicide bomber entered the mix. People requiring paper work were referred to the nearest embassy, you know, the one in Pakistan. Over 200 American citizens were left despite Biden’s promise.

LTC David Brown The facts are the Facts. President Trump said we were leaving Afghanistan May 1. The agreement was very public. Biden extended it to Aug 31. There was 18 months for the military to prepare and for civilians to leave. No one can say they were caught by surprise.

SGT (Join to see) - lol And you believe what politicians say. Hilarious. What the talking heads in Washington say and what is actually DONE are two different things. The military were told LATE in the game that we were pulling out and just because the talking heads say something, the military still has to wait on things called orders. Until those roll in and command says pack it up and get out, we stay and continue doing our jobs. There was literally little to no warning. It was a drop everything order and get out, hence the cluster and confusion and us leaving allies and American citizens in the lurch and looking foolish. Funny how Biden did not coordinate with a single ally on the withdrawal and it caught everyone by surprise. Which is why a LOT, MOST of our allies in the EU/NATO got a sour taste in their mouths.
