Couple of interesting side notes,to Alfred Eisenstaedt's iconic photo. The sailor just to the left of the couple is my wife's uncle who was serving in the Merchant Marine at the time. Coincidentally, my aunt and uncle were subjects of an earlier image of his. He captured them saying their goodbys at Penn Central in 1943.
