The incessant rumblings about the benefit to the Democrats is overrated. Cuban immigrants were largely Republican. Hispanics are largely Catholic and conservative. Both benefit Republicans more than Democrats.

No Surprise, they see all the dumb things Biden and Democrats have done to put our economy into this Inflation crisis. To quote a Wise man "The Buck Stops Here," and now because of Biden's actions the Buck has shrank quite a bit.

So, I've lived in Latin America for roughly 10 years and while there is an initial advantage Democrats might find in ignoring the border, creating some sympathy from the Latino community, and possibly garner votes from DACA recipients (and their family members) down the road. But I also believe they are missing the big picture. Ignoring those released from the prisons in our southern hemisphere, and pushed to enter the US illegally, most of the other people coming here are in fact looking for opportunity and the government services Democrats are willing to provide (so long as it isn't in THEIR community). However, the people coming here also want to earn a living just like anyone else, support their families, and to live in peace. But what does that look like to those from the south? Well, family is very important to them and so is religion. They are also trying to escape corruption, crime, and poor standards of living. Does the Democrat platform, through their actions, support that? I don't think so. The Latino citizens of this country are starting to see this and eventually, even those who managed to come here illegally but become legal citizens are going to see it as well. That gratefulness to the Democrat party will eventually fade as they see the Democrat party is only using them.

However, I also see that even the leadership of the Democrat party recognizes this, and they are trying to use the window of support to establish enough control to where it no longer matters. This is why the rest of the nation needs to continue to love and respect the Latino communities and embrace the common principles most of us share in family and having some sort of religious faith to drive our moral values. Unfortunately for those coming here illegally, part of that requires adherence to our laws and weeding out those who are trying to take advantage of the holes in our laws. Illegal immigration should not be tolerated, abuse of our immigration laws should not be tolerated, and creating environments which encourage and enable these actions should not be tolorated.

So, Democrats will continue to play games of semantics with regards to illegal immigration, accusing those on the right of being against immigrants (dropping the word "illegal" by design). This tactic is losing its clout, each time as more and more of the diverse members in our population are realizing conservatism is not some crazy "white" political position. It is an idea which encourages personal and fiscal responsibility, love for country, a desire to protect this country and its allies, a desire to challenge oppressive nations, and a desire to adhere to the laws outlined in our Constitution. I don't care what color, race, religion, etc you subscribe to as long as they do not conflict with conservative values. If you subscribe to leftist values, I can respect your right to do so, but my opinion of you will always be based on your actions, not where you come from.
