The story of Columbine II, a Lockheed Constellation, which was the very first aircraft designated as Air Force One. The aircraft was used by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States, and after being retired from service it was auctioned off. The owner left it sitting in the desert for years and was using it for spare parts until he was notified that it was the first Air Force One. Hopefully the effort to restore it and preserve it as part of America’s aviation history will be a success.
