Thank you for your service, Nate. But you do not represent all of us who served. I resent being pigeon-holed as "conservative" because I believe the anthem and flag are NOT political, they are patriotic. The Civil Rights struggle was WON in 1964. The symbol of that great struggle was the American flag, chosen by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., as representing the hopes, dreams and vision for all Americans, together. Anyone who would divide us for any reason is UN-American. To hear Colin Kaepernick talk about his negative feelings about this country make me sad. He is so confused, and influenced by a Muslim girlfriend who couldn't possibly appreciate the Judeo/Christian ethics that make the foundation of the United States. We, all of us Americans should be proud to stand and respect our flag TOGETHER, and honor America by respecting the National Anthem.
