It was a real scary time. I remember my folks talking about the preparations they had made in case their world blew up.
Now, we just have the entire world in one big shit show and no real way of turning the channel.

I’m going to operate on memory and add my two sense. The deal, quid pro quo was Jupiter missiles out of Turkey and removal of Soviet missiles from Cuba. Kennedy had given Kruschev a guarantee of no invasion of Cuba . CIA director Allen Dulles compromised this deal with the invasion ( Bay of Pigs). This led President Kennedy to fire the CIA director Dulles. Side Note, Dulles engineered the Coup d’etat in Iran 1953 that was the foundation for our present day problems with Iran.
The coup set up by CIA in 1963 Vietnam to remove President Diem was ok’d by Kennedy but the manner and violence that occurred, shocked him and gave him further distrust of CIA. At this moment in time Kennedy came to the realization that CIA needed to be disbanded. President Diem was assassinated on November 2, 1963. Less than three weeks later November 22, 1963 President Kennedy was assassinated.
Umbrella Man
In the film, Josiah Thompson, who first coined the term “umbrella man” says: “If you have any fact which you think is really sinister – right? Is really obviously a fact which can only point to some sinister underpinning… hey, forget it man! Because you can never, on your own, think up all the non-sinister, perfectly valid explanations for that fact.”
