One step at a time, baby. One slow step at a time.
36 years ago and still the hardest thing I've ever done. Don't stop, try not to look back, keep taking that next step.
Have a great Sunday, Rally Point.

SSgt Marian Mitchell - Thank you, like I said 20 plus years in the military and 24 years in law enforcement and corrections is not easy to handle but we made it work, we are a team.

1SG Steven Imerman - Wow, that's a tough one Steven. I survived two fo them and won;t ever do that again. My current wife is stuck with me unitl they fold my flag brother. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Here is where I was headed with the topic of recovery...
"Recovery can mean a lot of different things to different people today. It could be recovery from COVID-19, recovery from the sorrow and loss of a love one, recovery from a hard day's work, or recovery from and Invisible Wound/Disability (like PTS, TBI, MST, Addictions, etc...). Recovery is important for the mind, body, and soul. May your recovery, whatever it is, be a successful journey. Iy may not be an easy one, but may you reach the destination you seek; may you always stay positive that your journey will end in success; may you take the time to heal your body, mind, and soul along the way; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Please pass along this message for those who are recovering today or on that path to recovery. Be a Survivor, Reach Out, let us provide friends, connections, and peers to support that recovery, and Join us for Warriors for Life (WFL) “Peer-to Peer” Virtual Group Support where “Sharing is Caring!” on the road to recovery!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

We have support groups almost every night of the week where anonymously or not, you can participate from the comfort of your own home, your own space via a video conference bridge... and you don't have to turn on the video - you can just listen or talk, or both!

The mind is the slowest part to heal, images of the past always linger in the background.

It's called memories, if the history was good to outstanding and; if the memories haunt you then, this is called Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome or PTSS.

Memory is a tricky thing. You must embrace the memories the good and the bad. They remind you of your successes and of your failings, of happiness and of sadness. Life is full and at times all you can remember is the failures that haunt you. You just have to remind yourself of the success you have had. A wise old man told me two things when I was young that has helped me. 1) You can always get off the train no matter how far you have traveled. 2) A great baseball player fails 70 percent of the time.
