Good Sunday morning Burroughs Posse Leader from a cool, but brightening day this far... I wrote too soon, as the clouds have rolled back in! LOL! Current temp is only 42°! Oh to go back to the warmth of FL!

It is "Take a Rest Day", and that is what I hope to do this Sunday! More to follow... and here we go!\

"Sometimes we just need a mental vacation. Take a 15 minute break and start planning your next vacation." - Catherine Pulsifer

“No matter how strong or strong-willed you are, you cannot live a stressful, maxed-out life without that pace eventually biting you in the butt. It is necessary to take breaks, set parameters, and be kind to yourself if you want to continue making an impact in your little corner of the world.” ― Cynthia Mendenhall, author

"Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold. But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow." - Douglas Pagels

"Although it is important that we be productive citizens and put in time at work, maybe we need to respect the importance of leisure time and relaxation a little more." - Sage Wilcox, The 2-Hour Vacation

"It's very refreshing to go away and take a break, to clear your head, and just get into something else." - Francois Nars

"I've found that sometimes it is best to take a break by going for a walk, or take a coffee break. This break can help clear your mind and calm your anxiety. It is a time to let your mind go to zero by not thinking of the issue at hand." - Byron Pulsifer

I believe that it is clear and to cement that understanding, know that...

"Rest is important and creates a better leader and a better person. You’ve rested, you’ve got more patience, you listen better, you're open-minded, and there is less stress." — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

To quote that idiot manager, "You sure are a grouch, when you don't get enough sleep!" It damn near killed me. Near the end of that, I blacked out while driving one day. I was sitting at a red light. The next thing that I knew, over 15 minutes had passed, and I was slamming on the brakes to keep from hitting a brand new Cadillac that was cutting in front of me. Over 15 minutes had passed, and I couldn't remember any of it. Te idiot had been promising to hire another tech, for months. I told him what happened, the next day. He just shrugged and said, "You'll get used to it." I told him that if he didn't hire someone by Monday, that I was quitting and he could hire a dozen techs who didn't know what I did about the equipment in the hope of finding at least one who could learn the job fast enough.

Indeed! He also heard me tell someone that I had found the computer that I had been looking for. This was in the mid '80s. I had located a new, in the box Commodore SX64. It was a portable version of the Commodore 64, with a built in floppy ydrive and a five inch color monitor. The SOB bought it that afternoon, then bragged about screwing me out of it. The joke was on him, I found another a month later that was $100 cheaper. I loved the look on his face when I told him.

I hope you and those who love and depend on you are well-rested. I expect you appreciate rest and relaxation especially after strenuous activity. No doubt you understand the importance of sufficient rest. I pray that you and I will never be legalistic especially about the day the sabbath is honored. ‘'And he said to them, 'The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.' [Mark 2:27 ESV] my brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see).

I pray that each and every one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who is a parent or guardian is able to rest sufficiently especially those charged with raising infants and toddlers. I lift single-parents of infants and toddlers to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU motivate grandparents and other single parents to offer help, moral support, and adult conversation in person or telephonically. ‘Sweet is the sleep of a laborer, whether he eats little or much,’ [Ecclesiastes 5:12a ESV]
I pray for a sufficient increase of the fruit of the Spirit peace, patience, and faithfulness for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters dear LORD. Thank you, LORD for taking our burdens freely and enabling us to rest in YOU and lean on YOU for support for each of us. 'Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.’ [Matthew 11:28-30 ESV]
Thank you, LORD for YOUR perfect design of human beings. Although sin has infected creation, YOUR incarnation as the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, resulted in the sinless Jesus who became the Christ. YOUR atonement cleanses each adopted son and daughter of the guilt of sin and justifies each of us in YOUR scales of justice. ‘the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.’ [Romans 3:22-25 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Sunday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Monday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. Sorry to be out of touch but yesterday was a tough day and finally my body had enough and decided to rest!
Simple solutions to complex problems sometimes are the best ones. Work as much as needed, stop to play occasionally, eat but also fast (and rest your system) and rest your mind as well. Our systems work best when recharged and we do that through rest. Working all the time or failing to give your system a break leads to poor performance and breakdown. I found since making breakfast a real break fast (after 12 hours of no food) puts my blood sugar right where it belongs. Are you giving yourself sufficient rest in all needful ways?

Good for you SSG Michael Noll It's important to get my friend...

“Take rest day is important for everyone to recharge and reenergize the mind and body. We can get wrapped in a lot of projects, work, and supporting others as well as our families. We need to take time for ourselves to replenish, so that leads me to this quote…

‘If you get tired, learn to rest, not quit.’ – Unknown Author

May you know when enough is enough to take rest and get back to 150%; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Take time to unplug and give your mind, body, and soul a rest.” – COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

When you’re sitting back resting and relaxing TONIGHT tune into Warriors for Life (WFL) with SFC Richard Williamson for the "Sunday Topic Box" addition.
