The Army asked soldiers to turn in excess gear. It got back 37,000 items

In Germany my intell unit had a number of excess items, but we needed them to use as barter. We had generators that needed maintenance. The neighboring HAWK ADA units had generator mechanics whom we could hire to keep the generators up to snuff, using the excess property that was very useful and in demand. Nothing sinister or uncommon about it.
