Separate from the medal issue, I appreciate the source of the article. The pocket squares are really cool. Rare is the day that I am in a full suit and sporting a pocket square but it's awesome that the primary services (sorry Coasties), law enforcement, and fire services are represented.

I'm curious. I was at Landstuhl in 2001 when the war started. I had assisted in the medical treatment of MANY Service Members that came to my ward for all types of treatment. Would this count as Direct Support of OEF or no? Not that I want to push to get it, I am merely more curious than anything else.

LTC Jason Mackay - Thanks, Sir. Again, I was more curious than anything else. I had a strong feeling it was a NO type of answer. Not that I would pursue it even if that did qualify for me since I was not BOG there.

LTC Jason Mackay - Sir, I know you didn't read into it. But you and I both know there are those here on RP that will read into it.

Right in the article it says "Individuals authorized the ACM must have served in direct support of OEF.
The area of eligibility (AOE) encompasses all land area of the country of Afghanistan and all air spaces above the land. "
