If Texas was stupid enough to leave the Union (didn't we have a little disagreement on that back in 1861?) say good bye to all the US military bases there, plus any and all Federal agencies.
From one source
Texas
• Net federal funding: $304 per resident
• Total revenue from fed. gov.: $269.0 billion (2nd most)
• SNAP benefit recipiency: 12.0 percent (tied - 23rd highest)
• Median household income: $59,206 (23rd highest)
Just from the military bases
The Texas Comptroller study found that the 15 major military installations located in Texas generate more than $136.6 billion in economic activity here each year, and add $81.4 billion to our gross state product (Exhibit 1). They also generate $48.1 billion in annual personal income and support, directly and indirectly, nearly 806,000 Texas jobs.
