In my head, the lever and the bird gun have to have a polished wood stocks, other long guns are what ever works best. The laminates look good with asymmetrical lines, but I don't own any or have plans to buy any.

I've yet to become a "collector"... I view weapons as tools, and acquire them as I feel they are needed and my skills increase. The Winchester .30-30 was the epitome of technology when it came along; finely crafted fowlers and shotguns designed for field and sport, the Garand a revolution, but it all comes down to reliability, accuracy, and utility...and training, of course.
