I have always found Frost cheerfully and wholesomely morbid. This poem ends with an allusion to death-
"The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."
The Road Less Taken, Acquainted With the Night, Birches, Out, Out, and many others are in the main sweet and happy, and they are all about the inevitability of death.

Great Share Charlie. Facts which I had read before but time cased them to slip from my memory. Your post refreshed this old farm boy’s memory. Thank you!
