They should have small level of protection as courts and federal buildings.

I bought a level III plate for my daughters backpack - only a hundred bucks - and we went over how to use her backpack and position her body to protect herself. As well she has a tach pen (the only weapon that she can get into her school). Not surprisingly my daughter wants and is getting a BOB to work on striking and punching. While people might say this is not the life of a 13 year old I disagree - as in today's world it is. The world is not a safe place. My point is some people are just waiting to be a victim while other are training and doing what they can as best as they can not to be a victim. It is a choice. Schools not doing anything - they are just waiting in my opinion.

I agree it's sad that we have to think about things like this these days good job protecting your daughter

In IL every 5 you have to take a class for CCL as such I asked why everyone was getting their CCL. One was a teacher - he said after Parkland he was not just going to stand there - "I'm going out swinging". So some teachers are taking matters into their own hands. He was there with his son as well. Really good to see people are still being taught how to defend and fight for their lives. Half the class were prior service - not surprised as we tend to get that there are some really bad people out there.
